Dyslexia Pathway Navigator

RWK LiteracyOS · Texas Edition · For parents and caregivers

A clearer next step when reading feels difficult

When your child struggles with reading, knowing where to begin can be overwhelming. The Dyslexia Pathway Navigator is RWK’s guided tool for families exploring questions about reading support, school services, and next steps.

Start with your child’s current situation. The Navigator is designed to organize educational guidance around your answers, so you can prepare for a more focused conversation with your child’s school or reading specialist.

The Navigator opens on our dedicated app site. Choose English or Español at the top of the app. Need a template without completing the questionnaire? Open Parent Resources for reading concern, school conversation, and evaluation request tools in English or Spanish. Print or save each tool as a PDF.

How to get started

1. Describe your child’s situation. The opening questionnaire begins with grade level. Answer based on what you currently know about your child’s reading journey.

2. Explore guidance for your next steps. The tool is designed to help families navigate topics such as screening, evaluation, intervention, accommodations, and outside services.

3. Bring your questions to a conversation. Use the guidance to help organize what you want to ask your child’s teacher, school team, or reading support provider.

Who the Navigator is for

The Texas Edition is intended for parents and caregivers seeking a clearer understanding of possible next steps when a child struggles with reading. You may be exploring support for the first time or trying to make sense of services already in place.

Its guidance is organized for Texas. Families in other states should check the requirements and resources that apply where they live.

Guidance with a defined purpose

The Navigator provides educational guidance. It does not diagnose dyslexia, conduct a formal evaluation, establish eligibility for school services, or replace decisions made with qualified professionals and your child’s educational team.

You do not need to complete the Navigator before contacting RWK. If you would prefer to talk with someone, contact our team directly.

Built around trusted sources

RWK LiteracyOS identifies its approved guidance sources as Read With Kourtni, the Texas Education Agency, the State of Texas, the U.S. Department of Education, the International Dyslexia Association, and the Academic Language Therapy Association. Referencing these organizations does not imply their endorsement of RWK or the Navigator.

Connect guidance with reading support

Read With Kourtni is based in Katy and offers virtual support for K–12 learners across Texas. Explore dyslexia therapy, reading and writing intervention, or our Literacy Academy community model.

Learn about founder Kourtni Sampson, M.Ed., LDT, CALT, and RWK’s approach to structured reading support.

Questions before you start

Is this a dyslexia test? No. The Navigator is a guidance tool, not a diagnostic assessment.

Can I ask RWK for help without using it? Yes. You can contact RWK directly to discuss your concerns and available services.

Where does the button take me? To navigator.readwithkourtni.com, the dedicated RWK LiteracyOS app. This website page introduces the tool; the questionnaire runs in the app.
